'Person of interest' sought in deadly Treme shooting

New Orleans Police are searching for a ‘person of interest' following a deadly shooting in Treme.

The shooting happened at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Orleans Avenue and N. Tonti Street.

The 31-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was shot one time in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers clarify that the individual seen on surveillance footage is not a suspect in the shooting. However, detectives believe the man has information on the shooting and the events that took place Tuesday evening.
