Police ID men injured at Empire fish-processing facility

EMPIRE, LA (WVUE) -

Two men remain hospitalized after becoming entrapped in equipment at a Plaquemines Parish fish processing facility.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. at Daybrook Fisheries in the 100 block Daybrook Lane in Empire, where two employees who were working on a fish counter/sorter became entrapped in the equipment.

Officers say that 28-year-old Manuel Hernandez, of Harvey, suffered a right leg injury in the accident. Raymond Carrasgquillo, 30, suffered injuries to both legs. Both remain in intensive care.

Officers say they are still investigating what caused the accident.
