Police arrest third Metairie carjacking suspect

JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department detectives have arrested a third suspect in the July 26 carjacking of a mother and daughter in Metairie.

Lyndell Mays, 17, of Algiers, faces a charge of being an accessory after the fact to armed robbery.

According to police, Mays' fingerprints were lifted from the victim's car, which was found Tuesday.

Mays, Kendrick Porter and 19-year-old Antonio Marcelin, who has already been arrested, were three of four men involved in the carjacking, investigators said. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Bonnabel Boulevard.

Efforts are still underway to locate and arrest Hendrik Porter, who is also wanted in this investigation.

If you have any information that could help locate Porter, you are asked to call the JPSO Robbery Division at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
