D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) -

A surveillance picture shown on WLOX News and WLOX.com Monday night, and surveillance video posted on Facebook by a car burglary victim helped D'Iberville Police find an alleged burglar.

A day after airing that photo, and reading Facebook posts, police realized their suspect was in Jackson County. With the help of Jackson County deputies, they arrested John Edward Dennis on a charge of burglary of an automobile.

On Monday, D'Iberville investigators received several reports from people on Johnson Still Road and Lamey Bridge Road that their vehicles had been broken into. One victim had security camera footage that seemed to show the alleged burglar on his property.

Police released a picture of the suspect to the media, and the victim posted his video on social media. Instantly, investigators received tips about who the man in the picture might be.  They said those tips helped them identify Dennis as the person reportedly responsible for the burglary of one of the vehicles.

Dennis was booked into the Harrison County jail on a $50,000 bond.
