Troy shooting leaves man in critical condition

TROY, AL (WSFA) -

The Troy Police Department is investigating a shooting, which occurred on Saturday, that left one man in critical condition.

According to Police Chief Jimmy Ennis, officers responded to the 100 block of Aster Avenue at 8:10 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

Once they arrived on scene, officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a single gun shot wound.

The victim was transported to the troy Regional Medical Center and then later to Dothan.

The Troy Police Department has charged an 18-year-old male with first degree assault in connection to the shooting.

Bond has not been set at this time for the suspect. The suspects name is not being released by police due to the ongoing investigation and possibility of being granted youthful offender status.
