BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - It was both a proud and an emotional day for people in Bay St. Louis. They were so proud to be at the water's edge dedicating the city's new $22 million harbor.
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann attended the ceremony. He said the harbor is a tribute to the men and women of the bay who worked so hard to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
The emotion came when the city dedicated the marina in memory of Jody Compretta. He was a public servant who fought so hard to make Bay St. Louis a better place.
The new Bay Harbor has 163 slips. The deputy harbor master says all but six have been leased.
