WLOX Editorial: Tax free holiday doesn't go far enough

Mississippi's annual sales tax holiday weekend is this Friday and Saturday. It's a chance to save 7% on clothing and shoes. This is a good thing, it gives parents an opportunity to save money on back to school clothes.

But we think it's time for the state to expand the savings. Let's add all school supplies and computers to the tax free holiday. Plenty of our neighboring states give this break to help parents stretch their buying dollars as students head back to school.

Tell your state legislators, that the state coffers can make do with a little less tax money to expand the tax holiday.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to editorials@wlox.com
