ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) -

Kudzu, Cat's Claw and all kinds of weeds can easily take over, but a new test program pits nature against nature.

Some people in Louisiana think it is their job to eat. For a herd of goats in a west bank park, it is the truth.

Forested Oasis in Algiers is using the goats' seemingly endless appetites to help the park thrive by eating weeds and vines.

It would take hundreds of people to come in every day to do the work that the animals accomplish, according to the goats' owner. She said there is another benefit – by keeping equipment out of the park, the birds are not disturbed.

The hungry herd started work in May. It is eco-friendly and cuts down on costs.

The pilot program is set to continue for another month. The project has a chance of continuing long-term.
