BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Whether you're a fan of the Broadway classics or prefer theatre with a twist, you're in luck. Two very different musicals are playing in Biloxi; one at the Saenger Theatre and the other at Center Stage.
"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is classic Broadway. This Center Stage production is a musical satire about corporate life and office politics. Mike Warren plays the boss, Mister Bigley.
"This is a satire and shows how some people attain a high level of achievement without much work," said Warren.
In this case, that person is a young window washer, determined to make it to the top. Sean Harding brings that lead character to life.
"He wants to succeed in business and has a little hand book and thinks he can make it with very little work," said Harding.
Make it he does, with plenty of beautiful ballads and toe tapping fun along the way.
This show also brings long time Coast favorite Terese Garguilo Evans back to the stage with her hilarious interpretation of Mr. Bigley's secretary.
While they're climbing the ladder of success at Center Stage, over at the Saenger Theatre, another stellar cast is in search of the Holy Grail.
Broadway South Repertory presents "Monty Pythons Spamalot." "Spamalot" retells the legend of King Arthur and his knights of the round table. Seanie Wade Warren plays the Lady of the Lake.
"If you take the King Arthur legend and put it on its ear; this is what you have," said Wade Warren.
Mike Lacy plays King Arthur.
"It's probably as silly as you can get. Part of it is it's the theater of the absurd; the more serious you take it, the funnier it is," said Lacy.
Don't miss "Spamalot" through July 20, at the Saenger Theater in Biloxi. Be sure to catch "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" at Center Stage in Biloxi now through July 27.
