Paralyzed man loses appeal

Posted: Updated:

VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The state Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of a paralyzed Vicksburg man for his role in a 2011 drive-by shooting.

Eric Wallace was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2012 by a Warren County judge.

Prosecutors say nobody was injured when Wallace shot at a car and at the front door of an unoccupied home in 2011. Prosecutors say forensic tests showed bullet casings found at the scene matched Wallace's pistol.

Wallace was paralyzed following a drive-by shooting in 2006.

The Appeals Court on Tuesday denied Wallace's argument he was at a lounge when the shooting occurred.

The Appeals Court says testimony was Wallace left the bar at 1:30 a.m. The court said it was only a short drive from the club to where the shooting occurred.
