BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Tuesday's afternoon's weather caused some problems in Biloxi. Fire officials believe lightning struck a power pole near White Avenue and Father Ryan Road, causing the pole to fall and hit a gas line. We're told the gas line then ruptured, causing a fire.

Around the same time of this fire, a house on Father Ryan Avenue also caught on fire. Investigators aren't sure yet if the two fires are connected, but we did learn the gas line on the outside of the house was ruptured, as well.

Mississippi Power officials expected to have the power restored Tuesday evening. Firefighters said gas company officials expected it to take a day or two to fix the gas line.
