YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sheriff Jacob Sheriff says that Chris Williams has been charged with the murder of Shannon Blake Kirk. His bond has been set at $250K.

Authorities say Williams shot and killed Kirk at his home on Center Ridge Road Saturday evening.

Investigators say Kirk showed up to Williams' home with two friends Saturday.

"There was a gun that was stolen from Chris's vehicle," said Kirk's father. "The gun was actually returned several days later by someone else but he accused Blake of being the one to do the robbery."

Police believe Kirk had returned to Williams home to tell him that he had the wrong guy.

Police confirmed a break-in did occur at Williams' home.

According to authorities Williams did not believe Kirk and an argument ensued. Williams grabbed a gun and shot Kirk four times in his living room.

Kirk was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members of Williams claim he was acting in self-defense.
