MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

More reward money is being offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect in the July 13, 2014 robbery and homicide at the Troy Highway Package Store in Montgomery.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Central Alabama Safe Streets Task Force is offering a $5,000 reward. That is in addition to a $1,000 reward already offered by Central Alabama CrimeStoppers for an identification and arrest.

The FBI says, "Witnesses describe the robber as a black male, approximately 5'5" to 5'8" tall, slim to medium build, with a medium complexion. He was wearing a short-sleeved light blue shirt, blue jeans, and a purple shirt over his head to conceal his face. He was also wearing white and blue tennis shoes with red soles and was armed with a black handgun."

The suspect was last seen running to the left out of the store's front door.

Rahulkumar Patel, 26, was working his normal shift at Troy Highway Package Store, located in the 4400 block of Troy Highway that Sunday evening when he was shot at 9:11 p.m. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

If you can identify or know the whereabouts of this suspect, please call the FBI office in Montgomery at 334-263-1691, the Montgomery Police Department at 334-625-2831, CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, or Secret Witness Line at 262-4000.

Patel's family is seeking answers. Following his death, a single candle burned just inside the closed doors of the store with signs reading "CLOSED Family Emergency."

Flowers were placed outside the doors of the business as was a note explaining the community's grief. "We are very sorry for your lost [sic], We feel your pain as a community that knows Death so well No amount of words can heal your pain but just to know you are in our prayers!" the sign reads.

While the victim's family did not want to go on camera, they said their loved one had worked at the store for five years and there had never been any problems at the business.

Patel is Montgomery's 15th homicide victim of 2014.
