JACKSON, MS (WLOX) -

Mississippians are used to being the butt of jokes. When all the states are ranked, we're often at the bottom of the good lists and at the top of the bad lists. Yet, many Mississippians would tell you the Magnolia State is the best place in America to live. Now a video set to that hit Pharrell Williams song (you know the one) is showing exactly why Mississippians are so happy.

A group of five filmmakers, Tom Beck, Thabi Moyo, Nina Parikh, Philip Scarborough, and Terry Sullivan, worked together crossing the state to capture the beauty and diversity of Mississippi. The HappyMS Facebook page shows their adventures while putting together the video.

The video features dozens of people and places from across the state, including maternity nurses from Singing River Health System in Ocean Springs.

And even though he's not a native Mississippian, actor Dan Aykroyd even makes an appearance at the end of the video with several members of the Hinds County Sheriff's Department.

The #HappyMS YouTube page lists the names of everyone featured in the video: http://youtu.be/LtfCDoc1lDE

Since it was posted Friday, the video has already been viewed more than 17,000 times. The HappyMS Facebook page is also spreading the message with more than 1,000 likes. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/HappyMS2014
