VICKSBURG, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Tonight is the last chance for contestants at the Miss Mississippi Pageant to impress the judges on stage enough  they can possibly make the Top 10 tomorrow night.  Two more winners in Talent and Swimsuit are hoping they will make the cut.

Lots of royalty was on the Miss Mississippi stage Thursday night. Miss America 2009, Katie Stam Irk is hosted the show and Vicksburg Native, actress, singer and star of the VH-1 show Hit the Floor, Katherine Bailess, was one of the performers.

"This is my eighth year to be in it," said Bailess. "I was in it for seven years as a junior dancer and senior dancer, and it is so surreal to be back in my hometown and all my friends and family are out there watching. It's almost like doing a talent show, but its so amazing because this is how I started my whole career. It was on this stage, actually at the old auditorium."

Bailess says she does not envy the job of the judges.

Thursday night's contestants again competed in talent, swimsuit, evening wear and on stage question.  Winning top honors in talent, last year's fourth alternate to Miss Mississippi, Caroline Conerly, Miss Deep South.

"I've competed, this is my fifth time, and my first time to win a preliminary award," said Conerly. "You know being in the Top 10, being in the Top 5 is a huge honor but this right here is what got me involved in the Miss America organization is talent and singing and being able to present my art."

In swimwear there were several veterans including last year's third alternate, Jordin Johnson, Miss Turtle Creek, and from the Top 10, Jessica Terrill, Miss North Central Mississippi. The winner, Carol Coker, Miss Dixie.

"Its my first year competing at Miss Mississippi," said  Coker. "I competed in Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen last year, so its great to step it up a level and compete here."
