NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Governor Bobby Jindal signed a warrant Thursday to extradite alleged Bourbon Street shooting suspect Trung Le back to Louisiana.

Le had refused to sign an extradition waiver Monday.

Le is charged with one count of first degree murder and nine counts of attempted first degree murder stemming from the June 29th shooting that took the life of 21-year-old Hammond resident Brittany Thomas.

He was apprehended July 4th by the New Orleans Police Department's Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals. He was found at a residence in Gulfport, MS.

During the shooting on Bourbon Street, police believe at least two suspects exchanged gunfire, wounding bystanders in the crowd, before fleeing the scene. Police believe Le fired the first shot.

Police are actively searching for a second suspect.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant's office says they have not received any papers thus far from Governor Jindal's office regarding Trung Le's extradition.
