TROY, AL (WSFA) -

The installment begins Monday for Troy University's major audio and visual upgrades. The university along with Daktronics announced on July 10 the upgrades would be installed prior to the 2014 football season.

Daktronics is installing a state-of-the-art audio system, along with designing and installing one main video board in the southeast corner of Veterans Memorial Stadium. They will also install two 100 yard ribbon displays to go along both upper decks and two marquee displays to replace the existing boards on Highway 231.

"It is exciting to further enhance our game day experience for Trojan fans with the addition of the new Daktronics video board, ribbon boards and sound system in Veterans Memorial Stadium," Troy Athletic Director John Hartwell said. "We are pleased to partner with an industry leader like Daktronics, with whom we have a long-standing positive relationship. Additions such as these will help us continue to build the Troy Trojan brand."

The display board in the stadium will be twice as large as the one in Trojan Arena. The display will have excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility, and will have multiple levels of protection from the elements. It will be capable of providing a large image to highlight live video and instant replays, and can be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics , up to the minute statistics, scoring information, sponsor advertisements and colorful animations.

The new custom audio system will provide clear and intelligible speech, and give fans a powerful audio experience.
