SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (CNN) - A wildfire that destroyed at least 36 homes and one business in southern California this spring was set intentionally, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A minor has been identified as the person who started the "Cocos Fire" in May.

But authorities aren't releasing a name or any other details.

The case has been forwarded to the district attorney's office.

The Cocos Fire scorched almost 2,000 acres of land before a crew of more than 500 firefighters was able to contain it.
