Brian Dozier who leads the Minnesota Twins with 16 home runs before Tuesday's game, hopes to deliver a consistent long ball at the Gillette Home Run Derby next Monday.
His 16 home runs tied his for 12th in the American League and his 63 run total leads the AL.
After 86 games, Dozier carries a .264 batting average, 12 doubles and 39 RBI.
Dozier will be competing against defending champion Yeonis Cespedes of the Oakland A's, Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles and American League captain Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Captain Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies leads the National League, along with Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins, Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds and Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Gillette Home Run Derby is slated to begin next Monday at 7, to be televised by ESPN.
