BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The beach in Biloxi was host to a different kind of proposal on Saturday morning. Billy Verner hid under a blanket to surprise his girlfriend, Tangie Haynes, who didn't know he was there.

He then dropped to his knees before popping the question and slipping on the engagement ring. Then, they sealed the deal with a kiss.

"I said yes," Haynes exclaimed.

Friends and family looked on at the surprise proposal with big smiles and full hearts. Verner said the plan he laid out for the big day was executed perfectly.

"Two weeks ago, I had a lot of family coming into town, so I told her I wasn't going to be able to make it. This seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to sneak up on her and surprise her," said Verner. "I just liked the whole aspect of her not being able to know. "

Why did Haynes say yes?

"Because I love him with all I have and we are definitely meant to be," said Haynes.

The couple has not set a wedding date quite yet, but it will be soon.
