After Further Review: Ranking the Saints, 10-6

Our top-20 Saints player rolls on. Here is 10-6:

10.) Kenny Vaccaro

Vaccaro was exactly what the Saints thought he would be when they took him the first round last year. His versatility allowed him to play all over the field in Rob Ryan's defense. His fearless, physical style gave the Saints an edge they desperately needed last season. His rookie season was cut short in Carolina in week 16 but he still finished third on the team with 79 tackles.

9.) Pierre Thomas

Steady, reliable, productive.

Thomas is all of the above. In an offseason where the Saints said goodbye to several offensive mainstays, they were wise to keep Thomas around. Thomas is the ideal Sean Payton back who can run, never misses a blitz pick up and of course is the best screen back in the NFL.

Last year Thomas led the team in rushing (549 yards) and was second on the team in receptions (77). When its crunch time and the Saints need someone they know they can trust, Thomas is usually there to answer the bell.

8.) Jahri Evans

A rock along the Saints offensive line since 2006, Evans is coming off another Pro Bowl and All Pro season. Though there was some inconsistency with his play at times in 2013, there's little doubt that he is the best offensive lineman on the Saints roster.

7.) Marques Colston

The ultimate warrior for Drew Brees and the Saints offense. I've said it many times, no player takes more direct shots for his quarterback than #12, and yet every time he gets back up. Last year, he became the Saints all-time leader in receiving yards and yards from scrimmage.

If you check his stats, you'll find that Colston hasn't just been good but elite since he came into the league in 2006. Yet, somehow he still has not been to a Pro Bowl.

6.) Keenan Lewis

Lewis was the closest thing the Saints have ever had to a shut down cornerback under Sean Payton. The New Orleans native led the team with four interceptions and constantly challenged opposing teams' best wide receivers.

Maybe I'm wrong but I just get the feeling that no one enjoys being a Saints player more than Keenan Lewis.
