TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Tuscaloosa authorities say a man suspected of shooting a longtime acquaintance in both legs turned himself in to authorities late Thursday night.

Alquan Cortex Patton, 29, was arrested on an attempted murder charge Thursday night. His bond was set at $60,000.

Investigators with the Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit responded to a shooting at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday night in the 2400 block of T.Y. Rogers Jr. Avenue.

A 34-year-old man had been shot at least once and had gunshot wounds in both legs, Sgt. Dale Phillips said.

The victim had surgery at DCH for his injuries, which are considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators say the victim got into an argument earlier in the day with Patton.

Patton and the victim were longtime acquaintances. It's still unclear what their dispute was over, Sgt. Phillips said.
