Jackson man sentenced for abuse of vulnerable person

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Twenty-three year-old Joshua Mitchell of Jackson has pleaded guilty to felony abuse of a vulnerable person in Rankin County Circuit Court.  He admitted striking a patient at Hudspeth Regional Center, fracturing the victims' jaw.

Mitchell was sentenced to 10 years, with five suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation. 

He was also ordered to pay one thousand dollars to the Mississippi Crime Victim Compensation Fund and court costs.
