JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - If you see smoke near the Mississippi Sandhill National Wildlife Refuge today in Jackson County, it's part of a controlled burn.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is planning to conduct the prescribed firing operation on a total of 220 acres. The area is located just south of the wastewater facility on Seamen Road.
Smoke may move through some adjacent areas, and there's a chance roads in the area may be temporarily closed for safety reasons.
