New home renovation show filming in Montgomery area

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The new national TV show "Fix It and Finish It" was in Prattville Tuesday. The show debuts this fall and is filming episodes this week in the Montgomery area.

Crews were on Walker Street building a nice patio along with attractive landscaping. The show's host Antonio Sabato Jr., is part of the construction crew getting down and dirty laying concrete pavers. 

The job the crew is doing if free to the homeowner and the work is estimated at $15,000 including labor.

Crews finished up the renovations to two rooms at a Montgomery house on Monday. Chris and Sam Daughtry and their two little boys came home to a brand new living and dining room.

"We're shocked and very excited right now," Chris Daughtry said.

Chris and Sam knew their home needed work, but didn't know where to start.

"This house was built in the 1960s and a lot of the flaws have been covered up over the years," Chris said.

That is when Chris found the answer.

"We stumbled across a post on a web site," Chris said. "We told them that we were a new family and we needed to get some work done to our home badly and it was way above my level of expertise."
