(CNN) - Banking on your parents to help pay for that college education? It appears fewer are forking over the funds.

According to a new Discover Student Loans survey of 1,000 adults, in 2013 around 81 percent of parents say they'd help pay. But now that number is about 77 percent.

And 16 percent of families don't plan on contributing anything.

Most parents say they want to help but can't because they're concerned about their own finances.

About 15 percent of parents believe college students should pay for every dime of tuition.
