GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Thursday's monthly meeting of the Mississippi State Port Authority board ended with an outburst and altercation involving a representative from the Steps Coalition.
Board chairman John Rester had threatened to have Howard Page removed from the meeting a few minutes earlier, after Page interrupted the meeting and took issue with Rester's comments about a media outlet's "misinformation" on a dredging issue."
Page assumed the chairman was referencing the Steps Coalition and took issue with that. But things got ugly after the meeting when Page approached the chairman for clarification. Someone grabbed his arm and Page began yelling to "get your hands off me."
Following a few heated moments, things cooled a bit, but Page continued to confront and question both Chairman Rester and Port Director Jonathan Daniels.
We've posted the raw video of the entire confrontation to WLOX.com. Watch it online now, then tune in to WLOX News at 6pm to hear more about why it erupted and the reaction afterwards.
