JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are now working two homicides in two separate locations.

One man has been shot and killed in the parking lot of a Jackson gas station.

It happened Monday afternoon around 2pm, at the Fueltime Exxon gas station at the 1600 block of Terry road.

The other person has been found dead at the Reserve Apartments in North Jackson.

No word yet if the two are connected, or if they are being investigated as being connected.

Jackson police were called to the Reserve Apartments 16 minutes after the shooting on Terry road.

The victim, a black male, was found shot at least once in a breezeway entrance to a stairway to the apartments.

Assistant Chief Lee Vance said, "We had reports of shooting over here, perhaps involving at least one other individual, although we have not found that person yet.  We found some blood trails in and around the apartment where the known deceased person is, so were in the process now of processing the crime scene."

Police say they found a weapon near the victim.

The name of the victim is not being released.

His neighbors say he lived in the apartment with several others, and had a Jamaican accent.
