The city of Gulfport is moving forward with water and sewer improvement plans.We support the city's planned progress for a badly deteriorating water and sewer system.

The city had to borrow $30 million to move forward with the projects and it will mean a rate increase to pay back the debt. We know the work must be done, but we urge the council to pay close attention to how our dollars are spent. Solid infrastructure is important to the livability and growth of our region. But so is holding down taxes and fees.
