GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - When you have the tastiest seafood, and it comes from your waters, you want to brag about it, right? Friday, 41 restaurants teamed up to start boasting about South Mississippi's seafood industry.
Those restaurants are part of the newly created Mississippi Gulf Seafood Trail.
Over the summer, they'll offer daily menu specials that showcase fresh shrimp, crab, oysters and finfish caught right off South Mississippi's shoreline. The idea of the trail is to steer people to restaurants that exclusively use local seafood caught by local fishermen.
The Mississippi Gulf Seafood Trail extends from Waveland to Pascagoula. To see if your favorite restaurant is one of the 41 preparing South Mississippi seafood dishes, visit: http://mississippiseafoodtrail.com/
