Omaha (WLOX) -

T.D. Ameritrade Park opened up for Ole Miss Thursday night. The Rebels (48-20) plated 3 runs in the top of the 3rd. Picayune's Braxton Lee belted an RBI single to drive home the Rebels first run of the game.

Will Allen stepped up the plate and ripped a two-run double and Ole Miss led 3-zip.

TCU tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single and two bases loaded walks.

Ole Miss regained the lead on a single to right field off the bat of Sikes Orvis. Austin Bousfield galloped home with the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth TCU's big man Cron unleashed a solo-blast over the wall in left field that tied the game 4-all for the Horned Frogs.

Will Allen had a big night at the plate going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI's.  His single into center field plated Bousfield and the Rebels regained the lead 5 to 4.

Ole Miss added an insurance run in the top of the ninth.  Sikes Orvis, who went 3 for 5, plated his second RBI with a double to deep left field.  Will Allen scored.

The Rebels relief pitching staff would get the job done after Steve Smith was taken out of the game after 3 1/3 innings.  He gave up 4 hits and 3 runs.

Freshman left-hander Wyatt Short of Southaven got the win.  He pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up 2 walks and tossed 3 strikeouts.

Ole Miss advances to face Virginia Friday night at 7 p.m. and must beat the Cavaliers to force a final deciding game in their bracket Saturday night at 7.

If the Rebels can win back-to-back games over Virginia, Ole Miss would crack the CWS best-of-three finals facing the Vanderbilt-Texas winner.  The Volunteers and Longhorns meet 2:00 p.m. Friday.  If Vanderbilt beats Texas, the Commodores will earn a trip to the CWS finals.

The state of Mississippi could crack the College World Series finals two years in a row.  Last season Mississippi State battled UCLA in the finals.  The Bruins won the best-of-three series 2-0.
