Ole Miss pulls out 2-1 win over Texas Tech at CWS

OMAHA, NE (WLOX) - Pinch hitter John Gatlin came through with the game winning hit, after Texas Tech pulled-in its infield, having a five-man infield in the bottom of the ninth.

Gatlin got enough bat on the bat that sailed over the drawn-in infield with runners on first and third.  That was the winning hit as the Rebels survived a 2-1 decision over Texas Tech after the Red Raiders had tied the game in the top of the ninth.

Texas Tech nearly got out of the inning with a runner on first and one out.  Brantley Bell hit a comebacker to Red Raiders pitcher Cameron Smith, he tried to get the force out of Colby Bortles who had walked.  Smith threw the ball into center field, allowing Bortles to safely race down to third base.

Ole Miss will play in another elimination game 7:00 p.m. Thursday facing tonight's loser between Virginia and TCU.
