Mississippi anglers set two saltwater fishing records

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - The Mississippi Commission on Marine Resources certified two recreational saltwater conventional tackle records at its meeting on Tuesday.

CMR officials said Donald L. Bosarge II, of Gautier, broke the record for grey snapper on May 24 with a 15 pound, 4 ounce fish. The previous record for grey snapper was 14 pounds, 7 ounces.

Another record was set on May 21 by Cecily O'Brien, of Pascagoula, when she reeled in a 4 pound, 2 ounce red porgy. The previous record for red porgy was 3 pounds, 11.68 ounces.
