Pedestrian killed on I-10 near Hwy 57 identified

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The pedestrian who was killed Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 has been identified. Jackson County Deputy Coroner Jason Mood tells WLOX News 53-year-old Gary Dean Thibeault of Roswell, GA, was walking along I-10 when he was struck by a vehicle.

Officials said the accident happened in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Highway 57. As a result of that accident, two other accidents occurred near mile marker 58. Both of those were minor accidents, and no one was injured.

Two hours after the initial accident, traffic was still congested in the area of Highway 57.
