The founder and CEO of Chiropractic Hand & Foot Clinics of America, Dr. Robert Fenell, was the featured guest on Influencers Radio show with Jack Mize, where he exposed the common misconception that chiropractic care is limited to back and neck problems. His innovative approach focuses on helping patients with often debilitating, painful conditions in the hands and feet.

During the interview, Dr. Fenell revealed that most patients experiencing hand pain don’t realize they can be helped by a chiropractor. In fact, carpal tunnel syndrome has a 98% success rate with Dr. Fenell’s method. Unfortunately most people think their options are limited to physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, prescription drug medications and even invasive surgeries to help deal with their symptoms.

Although there are many different reasons for hand pain, numbness, tingling, loss of strength, and other symptoms, Dr. Fenell said that most of the time the cause of the problem is related to a mechanical dysfunction or small misalignment of one or more of the 27 bones in the wrist and hand. After treatment, patients are relieved to find that their quality of life improves dramatically.

Many conditions of the foot and hand can be treated very effectively with specific and gentle chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Fenell cited examples of runners who suffer from plantar fasciitis, a tightening of the band that stretches from the heel into the arch of the foot, or people who wake up in the morning and can’t walk due to pain from a heel spur.

Along with providing care to patients in his own office, Dr. Fenell also trains chiropractors around the world on the techniques he’s developed for adjusting the tiny bones and joints in the hands and feet in a gentle manner that provides relief.

“We are taught in chiropractic college to focus on spinal care and spinal function. Very little training is provided for arms, legs, hands or feet,” noted Dr. Fenell. “I tell doctors to examine their spine patients for any foot or arch problems. If the feet can’t absorb the pressure and shock from each step, that can translate into knee, hip, and spine issues. It is important to address the foundational structure along with the spine. When you find the real cause of the problem, you’re much more likely to provide a solution.”

Dr. Fenell explained, “With the special training I provide, doctors at our hand and foot clinics can deliver real long-term solutions to chronic pain conditions for patients.”

“Whether it is pain or numbness, or burning symptoms, we focus more on solutions than constant dosages of pain medications or needless surgeries. We’re actually correcting the structural problem which provides long lasting relief.”

With more chiropractors learning Dr. Fenell’s techniques people who are suffering with painful hand or foot conditions are able to take advantage of these alternatives at Chiropractic Hand & Foot Clinics of America around the country.
