KSLA News 12 Editorial: June 16th-V.A. Health Care Viewer Comments

Reaction this week to my editorial on health care concerns at V.A. hospitals. I said because of recent issues, all V.A. hospitals should be evaluated: their practices, patient feedback and patient outcomes.

Overton Brooks is a big V.A. hospital serving the ArkLaTex.

In response to that Jack, a Vietnam veteran wrote: "I am currently receiving care from the Overton Brooks V.A. Medical Center in Shreveport and am very proud of the staff of this hospital. I have always received quality care and timely appointments by hard working, but very dedicated personnel.

And a retired air force veteran wrote: "I have used this facility for at least 15 years and have not confronted any of these difficulties being made so news worthy. I would love to hear a positive comment coming from the news media."

What's your experience been at Overton Brooks?

I'd like to know.

I'm James Smith.

I asked for your thoughts on providing an extra $150,000 for overtime for Shreveport patrol officers. Most of you are in support of the increased patrols but question if it will be enough. Here are some of your responses.
