A national animal fencing company donated 19 animal resuscitators to the Jones County Volunteer Fire Department on Friday.
Each house of the Jones County Volunteer Fire Department will take one of the units donated by Invisible Fence.
The units will be used in fire situations to resuscitator animals at the scene. They will go into service immediately. No special training is required because the units work in the same manner as human resuscitators.
"In the past putting something around their face to get them some oxygen was the way it was done," said Glynn Hannah, Owner, Invisible Fence Mississippi. "This just makes it easier for them to do that."
The units are worth about $75 each.
In the last five years Invisible have donated more than 10,000 oxygen masks to fire departments in the U.S. and Canada. Agencies wanting to get involved in the program can go to the Project Breathe web site.
