Kenny Stills aims for strong follow-up campaign

A fifth-round draft pick last year, Kenny Stills exceeded expectations. The young wide out has challenged himself to take on even more in 2014.

"I still feel like my head's spinning a little bit, learning a new position and all the positions of the offense," Stills said. "I still kinda' feel like I'm a rookie out there some times, especially when you learn something new. It makes things a little bit different for you."

But with a full year under his belt, Stills says his connection with quarterback Drew Brees has vastly improved.

"I just feel like he has a little bit more trust in me than he did last year," Stills said. "He knows that if he puts the ball up there, I'll go make a play and so that benefits me to the max. He feels like he can throw the ball, and I'll go make a play for him."

Thirty-two catches and five touchdowns was a great foundation for Stills to now build upon in year-two with the Black-and-Gold, and the gameplan is to get him the ball more often, with the Saints utilizing not only his speed, but versatility.

"He can play more than one position," head coach Sean Payton said. "He is someone that can handle that, so we have to continue to get him different looks and touches. He's someone that after looking at him last year, we have to find a way to get him the ball more, so his transition, ability to stretch the field and use his hips to get in and out of cuts is something that has helped him."

"I felt like I've been able to do it since I was younger, and it's just an opportunity for me, and more chances to catch the ball," Stills said.

Wide receiver Nick Toon added, "Kenny, has obviously had a great start to his career, had a great off-season, and looks great. Has looked great throughout mini-camp and OTA's and all about maturing and getting better every day. I know that's our goal for both of us."
