Two famous restaurant combos moving to North Jackson

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

More businesses are making their way to Jackson.

A combination of a cafeteria and the world's greatest hamburger place is in the works. This site is the location of the old Steak and Ale restaurant off of I-55 near the Briarwood Exit.

The site will be the new home to the famous American franchised restaurants Fuddruckers and Luby's Cafeteria.

"We are just starting demolition," Job Site Superintendent Jerry Ingle told us. "We have all the concrete paving and asphalt removed. Opening day is somewhat around Thanksgiving right now. Plus or minus a week."

Luby's specializes in made-from-scratch comfort food and Fuddruckers specializes in hamburgers.

As of March 2011, Luby's Inc. operates under the brands Luby's, Fuddruckers and Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are 129 franchises nationwide and the company headquarters is based in Houston, Texas.
