Ocean Springs stabbing suspect arrested without incident

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Officials with the Ocean Springs Police Department tell us the man wanted in an alleged stabbing was arrested without incident on Monday morning. Capt. William Jackson said the stabbing occurred outside of a bar on Government Street late Sunday night.

Jackson said 67-year-old Joe Louis Daley, of Ocean Springs, is charged with aggravated assault.

Jackson said the investigation revealed that the stabbing was a continuance of an altercation that took place during Memorial Day this year.

Authorities said the stabbing victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Jackson said Daley is currently being held at the City of Ocean Springs Jail while awaiting a bond hearing.

    A Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman says the bridge will not reopen until it's replaced. No one is saying when that will be.
