Officials: Moss Point jail will close, inmates will be moved

MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

Moss Point Police Chief Keith Davis confirms that the Moss Point City Jail will close, and inmates will be moved to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Davis told WLOX News in a previous interview that he believes the jail is outdated and in poor condition.

Davis tells us an exact date as to when this will happen has not yet been determined. He's asked that all requests for comment be deferred to the Mayor's office and that he suspects the Mayor will put out a press release regarding this at some point.
