Ole Miss beat Vanderbilt to advance in the SEC Baseball Tournament

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Ole Miss (41-17) faced a must-win Thursday in the double-elimination tournament and advanced to face the Arkansas-LSU loser at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Aaron Greenwood (2-1) posted the victory in relief.  He allowed one run on one hit with a walk and three strikeouts in 2.2 innings.

Jeremy Massie started the game for Ole Miss and worked 4.1 innings with one run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

The Rebels exploded for four runs in the seventh. After two Ole Miss batters were hit by Vanderbilt pitcher Tyler Beede, Brian Miller was called in for relief.  Auston Bousfield came through and started the rally with an RBI single to left.

Austin Anderson belted a two-run single up the middle and the Rebels were in control.

Vanderbilt loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with two outs.  Greenwood delivered a strikeout to get out of a jam.

Ole Miss assistant coach Cliff Godwin said,"Anytime you win this time of year it's pretty awesome.  We played well today against one of the best pitchers in the nation."
