JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Vancleave man wanted for auto theft has surrendered to authorities, and investigators believe he may be part of a much bigger theft ring.

Jackson County investigators said Austin Colby Allen, 26, turned himself in late Monday afternoon after several felony warrants were issued for his arrest.

Allen and his brother, Kenneth Allen, are accused of the recent Park and Ride car thefts in St. Martin. Kenneth Allen is still in the Jackson County jail charged with two felony motor vehicle thefts.

Austin had bonded out, but was re-arrested Monday on 15 felony charges of taking of a motor vehicle. Investigators have linked him to at least 15 vehicle thefts throughout Jackson County, including Gautier and Moss Point. More charges are expected.

Investigators believe Austin Allen stole the vehicles and sold them as scrap metal. Since January, investigators say he's sold at least 30 vehicles to a coast scrap metal dealer.
