WLOX Editorial: Honor our fallen troops

Memorial Day: It's a National Holiday, a long weekend that kicks off the summer vacation season. Many of us get the day off. How will you spend your long weekend? We are suggesting you put aside some of your time this weekend to remember and honor those who died serving this country.

If you are able and available, consider joining about a thousand of your neighbors. They will be at Biloxi National Cemetery Saturday morning at 8 o'clock. You can be a part of this group of volunteers who will place flags on each one of 18,000 graves in Biloxi National Cemetery. We applaud each of you who have carried out this task in past years and those of you who will be at the cemetery Saturday morning to place the flags again.

Memorial Day is a day of remembering and honoring those who died while serving this country. What better way can you honor our fallen troops?

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to editorials@wlox.com.
