Robin Roberts delights fans with Pass Christian book signing

Posted: Updated:
PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

Robin Roberts returned to her roots on Friday. The "Good Morning America" anchor and Mississippi Gulf Coast native was at Pass Books to greet hundreds of fans and sign copies of her book "Everybody's Got Something."

In the memoir, Roberts discusses everything she has been through and how her mother's advice has helped her through the years.

Her mother, Lucimarian Tolliver, passed away a few years ago. Roberts' family says they think Tolliver would be proud of her daughter's book.

"It was so great because both my sisters, Dorothy and Sally-Ann, after reading the book were quite emotional and saying that mother would have been proud.  As children, that's all you want. You want your parents to be proud of you, even if they're not here," said Roberts. "So, I think that she would be proud. I hope that she would be. She got the first word and the last word in the book, so I think she would be very happy about getting the last word in the book."

Roberts also shared the latest on her health. We will have that special health watch for you Tuesday night at 6 p.m. on WLOX ABC.
