Camp fire blamed for Flagstaff brush fire

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

Flagstaff firefighters were asking the public to be on the lookout for illegal camp fires in the city limits.

A small brush fire in the Cedar Hill area was spotted about 2 a.m. Friday in what was believed to be a shelter in a homeless camp, according to the fire department.

Firefighters believed it began with a camp fire and was extinguished the fire that burned about 1/10th of an acre, the fire department said.

Anyone who sees campfires within the city limits are asked to call the Flagstaff police department.
