SWEPCO bringing crews to repair damage south of Bert Kouns

Posted: Updated:
CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

Power has been restored to all but about 250 SWEPCO customers in Caddo Parish, after a wreck in West Shreveport knocked out service to 1,300 Thursday morning.

SWEPCO is bringing in additional transmission crews from Longview to help repair the damage to seven structures and six more poles that are leaning at this time south of Bert Kouns.

The 138,000-volt line is out of service, but no customers will be impacted after these last 225 are brought back on today.

The repair work may take several days, and Bert Kouns will have to be closed again for 2-3 hours to string the new conductor back across the road. SWEPCO will be working with the police department on the road closure.

The driver of the vehicle involved was taken to the hospital for back pain.
