LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

If you noticed a lot of Burnt Orange in Lubbock Wednesday, it's because the Texas Comin' on Strong bus tour came to town, led by new Longhorns football coach Charlie Strong.

Strong comes from Louisville and is visiting 13 cities in 30 days.

"Coming out to West Texas has been fun. Started out in El Paso, then last night was Odessa/Midland, then make our stop here in Lubbock and go on down to Amarillo. I want to meet the fans and give them an opportunity to know who I am," Strong said.

Joining Strong on this portion of the tour was former Basketball Coach Jody Conradt. The Texas Crowd sang Happy Birthday to her at a lunch at the 50 Yard Line.

Since he was in Lubbock, we asked Coach Strong about Kliff Kingsbury and the Red Raiders.

"I know he's doing an outstanding job. He's gonna have an outstanding program. We don't play them for a while so I can't worry about Texas Tech right now. Got to get our guys ready to go play."

The Red Raiders host Texas Nov. 1 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
