KENNER, LA (WLOX) -

The woman accused of murdering and dismembering Jaren Lockhart remains behind bars.

Margaret Sanchez is being held on a $750,000 bond. The 30-year-old is charged with second degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Kenner Police told WLOX News investigators are still working on the case against Terry Speaks. Sergeant Brian McGregor said Speaks will not be getting out of jail in New York in October because Louisiana has a hold on him for separate charges unrelated to Lockhart's murder.

The chief spoke Thursday about the Jaren Lockhart murder case his department just took over from Hancock County authorities. He said they are now fairly confident that the young woman was killed in Kenner, and her body parts dumped in Mississippi.More >>
