Waveland man sentenced for making, passing counterfeit cash

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A Waveland man was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison Wednesday for his involvement in making and passing counterfeit money.

Alton Emerson Morgan, 39, must also pay a $2,500 fine and $760 in restitution. After his release, he'll remain under supervision for three years.

Morgan pleaded guilty to making counterfeit $20 and $100 bills in Hancock County back in December 2013. Morgan also admitted passing counterfeit $20 and $50 bills in Rankin County in December 2012.
